Shanna Guzman

I am most passionate about guiding others in achieving optimum health and wellness through personal development, daily movement that they love, resistance training, and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle guidelines that promote longevity. When we put our physical and mental health first, we start unlocking our true potential in all the life things that matter most to us such as our passions, family, friendships, and livelihood.  

I combine my years of being a Licensed Acupuncturist and extensive studies in overall health with the time spent coaching others in fitness to create a holistic approach in my coaching.  All of my coaching and guidance comes from personal experience, extensive research, and studies. I truly enjoy watching the transformation of my clients and the personal growth that comes with their dedication and at times getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.

My Mission

I want to create a space for my clients to be honest and transparent about their obstacles or whatever they feel they need to share for me to coach them effectively or maybe these just need to share with someone that has a neutral stance on what they may be going through.  I am empathetic to my client's needs and so it it important to me to feel they are heard and understood. I will be direct and share guidance and suggestions with compassion and understanding.

Working with Shanna completely changed my life. I had been working out—HIIT classes, running, yoga—for years but as I reached my late 40s, I didn’t feel great and I didn’t love how I looked for all the time I spent on exercise. Shanna changed things in two major areas. First, she blended my beloved running for cardio with progressive weight training. I had never had a program that was made just for me where I worked on progressive overload for strength and muscle-building. She carefully developed my program and taught me how to dial in my intensity and stimulation for maximum gains. The second critical piece was nutrition. I had never been intentional before and she changed all of that coaching me through food and behavior changes to where I finally understood the elements of proper nutrition. During our weekly check-ins, Shanna listened and made personalized changes. Shanna truly cares about how you are feeling and she makes it possible to achieve your goals. By working with Shanna, I was able to discover my passion for bodybuilding and nutrition which I plan to pursue for many years to come.

My Fitness & Wellness History

I love fitness because it's the conduit for me to get to know myself better through the challenge of it.

My coaching began with my own fitness.  I was a competitive swimmer growing up. I went on to swim at a division 1 school, and I kept competing in many different modalities throughout my life, winning the Masters World Championship in the 200m Backstroke, and competing in open water swims, triathlons, and CrossFit competitions.. My coaching first started with swimming but has since moved on to coaching outdoor fitness classes, cycling classes, CrossFit, and now 1:1 coaching. 

My education is something that's always brought great joy to my life, and I've done a lot of it. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from University of San Diego where I majored in Anthropology and minored in Marine Science. I went on to earn my Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and I became a Licensed Acupuncturist in California. Outside of traditional education, I earned my OPEX Level 1, CrossFit Level 1, NASM CPT, Chek Holistic Health Practitioner, Precision Nutrition Level 1, and Reiki Master designations.

Today, I strength train 4 times a week (with 2 of those sessions having some added conditioning at the end), walk around 10,000 steps daily, get in 2 Power (Hot) Yoga Classes a week, surf a few days a week (weather and conditions permitting), and meditate about 5 days a week.

Here's how we get started on your coaching journey:   

✅ 60 min Introductory zoom call to discuss your goals, obstacles and story.

✅ 3-5 day mobility and strength balance assessment to complete on your own.

✅ 3-5 day nutrition and lifestyle assessment to complete on your own.

✅ 30min Assessment review and Goal Setting call after assessments have been completed and reviewed.

✅30min Follow up Consultation in 2 weeks to ensure we're already on the right track. 


Throughout your coaching journey you will receive the following:

✅ 30min zoom consultations each month to reassess, discuss how you're doing, and continue to progress

✅ Progressive nutrition protocol based on where you are.

✅ Customized training plan that is research-backed and strategically created. 

✅ Unlimited support through messages during my usual working hours

✅ Weekly Check Check-Ins via Loom (video) or messages.

✅ The support and care of ONE coach to ONE client - all your needs fulfilled with one person
