Position Overview
The Part-Time Coach plays a critical support role on the proof3 coaching team. As a part-time team member, the primary responsibility is delivering excellent group sessions with consistency, energy, and professionalism. Assistant Coaches are expected to create a welcoming and inspiring class environment, connect with members, and support proof3’s standards of coaching. This role does not involve programming, 1:1 nutrition or lifestyle coaching, or lead management responsibilities.
This position is ideal for a coach looking to grow within a system, refine their craft, and contribute meaningfully to a tight-knit community.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching
1. Coach assigned group fitness classes (typically 2 to 10 per week)
2. Deliver sessions in alignment with the proof3 model, programming, and training intent
3. Maintain high standards of safety, hospitality, and energy on the floor
4. Provide form corrections and member encouragement in real-time
5. Deliver 1:1 personal training sessions (if applicable) at the same level of quality as full-time proof3 coaches.
Member Connection
1. Build strong relationships with members during and around class times
2. Help drive class attendance through great coaching and organic referrals
3. Support a welcoming training environment
Assessments and Personal Training (optional)
1. Eligible to conduct member assessments if approved; paid hourly for assessment sessions
2. Eligible to provide personal training if within scope of experience and approved
3. Not eligible to deliver 1:1 nutrition or lifestyle coaching
Professional Development
1. Attend coach education sessions led by the Head Coach
2. Stay current on proof3 programming and floor standards
3. Be open to feedback and coaching growth opportunities
Facility and Team Support
1. Assist with class setup, teardown, and equipment checks
2. Support the overall cleanliness and safety of the training environment
3. Participate in community events and outreach efforts as needed
Sales and Social Media Engagement
1. Guide potential members through facility tours, introducing them to proof3’s approach and differentiators.
2. Lead and support sales consultations, helping prospective members understand proof3’s offerings and convert into paying clients.
3. Engage in social media content and brand-building efforts, representing proof3 online and in-person.
4. Assist in community outreach, lead generation, and local events to drive awareness and growth.
Technology Utilization
1. Embrace and effectively utilize proof3’s technology platforms to enhance member experiences, track progress, and streamline operations.
2. Stay updated on evolving fitness technologies and integrate them into your coaching practices to ensure a seamless member experience.
Qualifications
Passion for Fitness and Health: A genuine enthusiasm for helping others improve their health and wellness through fitness.
Desire to Learn and Grow: Eager to develop coaching skills and knowledge, with a willingness to learn from the Head Coach and coaching team.
Experience: Previous experience in fitness (group classes, personal training, etc.) is a plus but not required. Certification from a reputable institution is preferred but not mandatory if supplemented with practical experience.
Personable and Engaging: Ability to build strong, genuine connections with members and motivate them to achieve their goals.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team, supporting fellow coaches and contributing to a positive gym culture.
Technologically Proficient: Comfortable with using and adapting to new technologies that enhance member experiences and coaching effectiveness.
Continuous Learner: Commitment to staying current with fitness trends and research to continually improve coaching practices.
Adaptable: Flexible and able to adapt quickly to the dynamic environment of a growing fitness community.
Certification: Although we value qualifications from reputable institutions, we are more concerned with your acumen as a coach and the proof of that acumen through your experience and the impact you've had in changing people's lives.
CPR/AED Certified: Current certification required.
