Small-Group Training in Scottsdale: How It Works at proof3

See how proof3 combines individual coaching, assessment information and strength and endurance training in a small-group Scottsdale studio.
A proof3 coach works with a small group of members on bikes and training stations.

Small-group training gives you the company of other members and a coach to guide you through your workout. At proof3 Salt River in Scottsdale, we combine that shared experience with individual attention, so your exercises and resistance reflect your starting point.

It can be a good fit whether you're learning to lift, returning after a break or building on an established routine. You have people to train with and a coach to help you understand the work.

How does individual coaching work in a group?

Members bring different experiences and goals into the same session. You might be starting strength training after 60, returning after several years away or building on a routine you already have.

Your coach helps you choose your working resistance (your weights), learn the movements and make adjustments when needed. You can train alongside someone with more experience while using an exercise variation or weight that fits you.

Groups are never larger than 12, so as the session progresses, your coach can watch how you move and give you feedback, with time to ask questions when something feels unfamiliar.

Why do we start with a fitness assessment?

Before you begin training, your proof3 Assessment gives us information about your body composition, movement, and strength and power. We review the results with you and discuss your current activity and what you want to work toward.

That helps us connect your starting point to your training. Your coach also takes relevant exercise restrictions and guidance from your health-care team into account.

What happens during a session?

Our signature 30/30 session lasts an hour, with 30 minutes devoted to strength and 30 minutes to endurance. Your coach guides you through the work and helps you understand the exercises, resistance and pace that fit your plan.

Training at a regular time gives you a structure for your week, while the group brings company and encouragement to the experience.

How do we adapt your training?

We review what’s happening in your sessions alongside repeat assessment results and how you’re feeling. This gives your coach information to discuss with you as your training develops, including when to change resistance or adjust an exercise.

Common questions about small-group training

Can the coach adapt a group workout for me?

Yes. Your coach helps you choose your resistance and exercise variation, watches how you move and adjusts the work when needed. You can train beside someone more experienced while doing a version that fits you.

How long is a small-group session at proof3?

Our signature 30/30 session lasts an hour: 30 minutes of strength training and 30 minutes of endurance work.

Does small-group training cover both strength and endurance?

At proof3 it does. Each 30/30 session gives 30 minutes to strength and 30 minutes to endurance, so both are a regular part of your week.

Is small-group training only for older adults?

No. Members bring different experience and goals, whether you’re learning to lift, returning after a break or building on an established routine. Your plan starts from your own assessment, not your age.
